My oldest checking out the radio and the new station setup.... maybe one day with a little help she will have her ticket if she wants.
My Little Man checking it out too.....
New station setup, new computer cabinet equals new operating cabinet for Daddy! Now to fill the empty spots, upgraded from the go box radio set up to an Alinco Dual Bander. Thanks to KJ4NMO I have an HF rig again! Kenwood TS440S.
New Station Setup
UPDATE: After 6 months of fighting with the TS440 and getting nowhere, the gentleman that was working on it and unfortunately caused its demise paid up and bought the rig. With that I added a little "very little" to it and ended up with one of my wishlist rigs thanks to a Brother Ham. The Icom IC-761 was a perfect addition, along with the laptop from my wife and the printer. Recently upgraded to Extra Class and very proud of my setup and working the world.
The HF rig feeds to an AI4JI Off Center Fed Dipole up about 45 feet

Straight Key
My minature straight key I put together at work. Took about 2 hours in total to do. This is how I spend my lunch breaks!
It measures about 1 3/8 x 2 1/4, Brass and Stainless
My Good Friend K4LAM has this one right now.put up for safe keeping.

1944-45 VIBROPLEX BUG
My Vibroplex Bug Circa 1945 according to the serial number on the placard. All Original and in beautiful shape, even got the traveling case for it and the old grounding cord used to tap into the straight key of a station. The added length on the end with the weights is to allow me to slow the bug down to about 8 wpm, it normally only goes down to about 15 wmp "words per min"
2m/440 Dual Band Antenna
This one has been waiting the mount for a while, its a homebrew arrow dual band antenna, simple to make and gives me a 1.1:1 across the 2m band its up about 46 feet and does a great job. I did not come up with the design it is from a set of plans found on the internet. The plans for this antenna can be found under the project section of this website.
Antenna is two sections taller now only utilizing half of the 20 foot push-up pole on top.
